Carnaby road Still As Vibrant As in the 60's

Early on, in the 16th century, Carnaby road was just another hunting ground. Hunters would call the place "Soho", giving the place a name. The 17th century brought on the plague so the area was used to bury the dead.

The road got its name from a man name Richard Tyler who built a huge house on the east side of the road and named it Karnaby House. The houses that were originally built were rebuilt and the road took on the name of Carnaby Street. The road feels more like a community than just a street, due to the fact that it is a road for pedestrians only. No motor vehicles are allowed on this street.
